  • About the National Conference of Regulatory Attorneys
The NCRA was created to provide educational opportunities specifically tailored to government regulatory attorneys, with a focus on state regulatory issues. The NCRA conference covers a wide variety of regulatory topics, including electricity, gas, water, telecommunications, federal regulations, and ethics. NCRA also works to keep participants informed about recent developments and trends in public utilities regulation. The conference seeks to provide a balanced opportunity for debate and discussion of legal regulatory issues.

Conferences are held annually, typically in June, and are organized by the members of the National Association of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners (NARUC) Subcommittee on Law, with a designated host state planning the conference.

  • Who can attend?
The NCRA’s annual conference is open to all regulatory attorneys having statutory responsibility for working with or appearing before State or Federal regulatory agencies.

  • When was the NCRA created?
The NCRA was created in 1977 by a resolution of the Subcommittee on Law and officially adopted by NARUC at the 89th Annual Convention.
