Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference 12/5/06


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Commission at the December 5, 2006, Agenda Conference:

ITEM 5:DOCKET NO. 060172-EU– PROPOSED RULES GOVERNING PLACEMENT OF NEW ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES UNDERGROUND, AND CONVERSION OF EXISTING OVERHEAD DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES TO UNDERGROUND FACILITIES TO ADDRESS EFFECTS OF EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS.

DOCKET NO. 060173-EU– PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO RULES REGARDING OVERHEAD ELECTRIC FACILITIES TO ALLOW MORE STRINGENT CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS THAN REQUIRED BY NATIONAL ELECTRIC SAFETY CODE. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing changes to proposed Commission rules to minimize future storm damage and strengthen Florida’s electrical infrastructure.

ITEM 7:DOCKET NO. 060663-TP– IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 811 NXX CODE AS THE NATIONAL ABBREVIATED DIALING CODE TO BE USED BY STATE ONE CALL NOTIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR PROVIDING ADVANCE NOTICE OF EXCAVATION ACTIVITIES TO UNDERGROUND FACILITY OPERATORS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE PIPELINE SAFETY IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 2002. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on the Federal Communications Commission-required implementation of the 811 code as the national abbreviated dialing code to be used by the state's One Call notification system.

ITEM 13:DOCKET NO. 060678-EIPETITION FOR APPROVAL TO MAKE RENEWABLE ENERGY PILOT PROGRAM (F/K/A GREEN ENERGY RATERIDER) PERMANENT, BY TAMPA ELECTRIC COMPANY. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on Tampa Electric Company’s proposal to make its pilot Green Energy Rate Rider Program permanent.
