FLORIDA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION CONSIDERS ITEMS OF INTEREST AT UPCOMING AGENDA CONFERENCE


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Commission at the April 24, 2007, Agenda Conference:

ITEM 2: DOCKET NO. 060677-TL – JOINT PETITION TO IMPLEMENT PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO AUTOMATICALLY ENROLL ELIGIBLE CUSTOMERS IN LIFELINE TELEPHONE PROGRAM, BY CITIZENS OF FLORIDA AND AARP. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation to hold the docket in abeyance since an automatic enrollment process has been initiated by the Public Service Commission and the Florida Department of Children and Families.

ITEM 6: DOCKET NO. 060150-EI – PETITION FOR APPROVAL OF REVISIONS TO CONTRIBUTION-IN-AID-OF-CONSTRUCTION (CIAC) DEFINITION IN SECTION 12.1 OF FIRST REVISED TARIFF SHEET NO. 6.300, BY FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on a Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) proposal to revise the definition of CIAC to include a governmental adjustment factor (GAF) of 25% when the applicant for conversion is a local government. The 25% GAF is intended to encourage the installation of underground facilities in some communities.

ITEM 8: DOCKET NO. 030106-SU – APPLICATION FOR STAFF-ASSISTED RATE CASE IN LEE COUNTY BY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SYSTEMS OF PINE ISLAND, INC. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation requiring  Environmental Protection Systems of Pine Island, Inc. to issue customer refunds based on the delay in completing a treatment facility interconnection and the difference in the projected and actual cost of the interconnection.

ITEM 10: DOCKET NO. 060253-WS – APPLICATION FOR INCREASE IN WATER AND WASTEWATER RATES IN MARION, ORANGE, PASCO, PINELLAS, AND SEMINOLE COUNTIES BY UTILITIES, INC. OF FLORIDA. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation regarding proposed rate increases and the overall quality of the water and wastewater service for Utilities, Inc. of Florida in Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, Orange, and Seminole Counties.
