Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (Commission) at the October 9, 2007, Agenda Conference:

ITEM 4: DOCKET NO. 060582-TP - PETITION OF ALLTEL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. FOR DESIGNATION AS ELIGIBLE TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIER (ETC) IN CERTAIN RURAL TELEPHONE COMPANY STUDY AREAS LOCATED ENTIRELY IN ALLTEL'S LICENSED AREA. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation proposing that this docket be set for hearing in order to develop an evidentiary basis for a decision on Alltel’s ETC petition.

ITEM 5: DOCKET NO. 070052-EIPETITION BY PROGRESS ENERGY FLORIDA, INC. TO RECOVER COSTS OF CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 UPRATE THROUGH FUEL CLAUSE. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing the utility's request to recover through the fuel clause the costs of the expansion of its nuclear unit.

ITEM 6: DOCKET NO. 070290-EI PETITION TO INCREASE BASE RATES TO RECOVER FULL REVENUE REQUIREMENTS OF HINES UNIT 2 AND UNIT 4 POWER PLANTS PURSUANT TO ORDER PSC-05-0945-S-EI, BY PROGRESS ENERGY FLORIDA, INC. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing a Progress Energy petition to increase its base rates to recover $52.4 million in revenue requirements associated with Hines Unit 4 and to transfer recovery of the $36.3 million revenue requirement for Hines Unit 2 from the fuel clause to base rates.
