Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the Thursday, September 4, 2008 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 3: Docket No. 080159-TPJoint petition to initiate rulemaking to adopt a new rule in Chapter 25-24, F.A.C., amend and repeal rules in Chapter 25-4, F.A.C., and amend rules in Chapter 25-9, F.A.C., by Verizon Florida LLC, BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. d/b/a AT&T Florida, Embarq Florida, Inc., Quincy Telephone Company d/b/a TDS Telecom, and Windstream Florida, Inc. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing whether the PSC should amend and repeal rules governing telephone companies.

ITEM 17: Docket No. 080219-EIJoint petition for authority to deviate from requirements of Order PSC-06-0144-PAA-EI regarding CCA wood pole inspections, by Progress Energy Florida, Inc., Florida Power & Light Company, and Tampa Electric Company. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation concerning requests from three companies to amend the inspection processes and techniques used to examine CCA-treated wood utility poles.

ITEM 19:

Docket No. 080255-EI - Petition for approval of standard interconnection agreements for expedited interconnection of customer-owned renewable generation systems and associated net metering tariff, by Tampa Electric Company.

Docket No. 080257-EIPetition for approval of net metering tariff, new interconnection agreements, and modification of various related tariff sheets, by Progress Energy Florida, Inc.

Docket No. 080260-EIPetition for approval of standard interconnection agreements for Tier 1 through Tier 3 customer-owned renewable generation systems and revisions to tariff sheets iv, 4.2, 4.16, and 9.1, by Gulf Power Company.

Docket No. 080265-EIPetition for approval of net metering tariff and standard interconnection agreements, by Florida Power & Light Company.

Docket No. 080294-EI Petition for approval of standard interconnection agreements for customer-owned renewable generation systems, by Florida Public Utilities Company.

The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on each company’s efforts to conform to the PSC’s net-metering and interconnection rule, which promotes the development of customer-owned renewable generation.

ITEM 23:

Docket No. 080203-EIPetition to determine need for West County Energy Center Unit 3 electrical power plant, by Florida Power & Light Company. The Commission will consider a determination of need petition to construct a third natural gas unit at an existing generating site in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Docket No. 080245-EIPetition for determination of need for conversion of Riviera Plant in Palm Beach County, by Florida Power & Light Company. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on the conversion of the Riviera plant to a high-efficiency natural gas plant.

Docket No. 080246-EIPetition for determination of need for conversion of Cape Canaveral Plant in Brevard County, by Florida Power & Light Company. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on the conversion of the Cape Canaveral plant to a high-efficiency natural gas plant.

ITEM 25:

ITEM 25: Docket No. 060540-WUApplication for increase in water rates in Pasco County by Colonial Manor Utility Company. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on new rates for residential water service.
