Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the Tuesday, June 30, 2009 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 1: Docket No. 040763-TP Request for submission of proposals to provide relay service for the hearing and speech impaired, and other implementation matters in compliance with the Florida Telecommunications Access System Act of 1991.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing the third year option of the Sprint relay contract beginning June 1, 2010, and the appointment of a replacement committee member who has resigned.

ITEM 3: Docket No. 080677-EIPetition for increase in rates by Florida Power & Light Company.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association's petition for a base rate proceeding for Florida Power & Light.

ITEM 5: Docket No. 070348-TXAmended petition for designation as eligible telecommunications carrier (ETC) by Swiftel, LLC.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing Swiftel’s petition for ETC designation in Florida.

ITEM 11: Docket No. 070703-EIReview of coal costs for Progress Energy Florida's Crystal River Units 4 and 5 for 2006 and 2007.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing the prudence of Progress Energy’s coal procurement for 2006 and 2007.
