Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the Tuesday, July 14, 2009 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 14: Docket No. 090163-EQ – Petition for approval of new standard offer for purchase of firm capacity and energy from renewable energy facilities or small qualifying facilities and approval of tariff schedule REF-1, by Gulf Power Company. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on Gulf Power’s standard offer contract that will be used by renewable energy providers.

ITEM 16: Docket No. 090323-TP – Proposed repeal of telecommunications rate-of-return Rules 25-4.017, 25-4.0171, 25-4.0174, 25-4.0175, 25-4.0178, 25-4.0405, 25-4.135, 25-4.140, 25-4.141, 25-4.214, and 25-4.215, F.A.C. The Commission will address a staff recommendation on rules related to rate-of-return regulation of local exchange telephone companies.

ITEM 17: Docket No. 080317-EI – Petition for rate increase by Tampa Electric Company (TECO). The Commission will consider requests to reconsider two parts of TECO’s recent rate case. The utility is contesting the Commission’s adjustments to reconcile rate base with capital structure. Interveners are contesting the Commission’s decision to grant a step increase for new generating units and a supporting rail facility.
