Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the Tuesday, August 18, 2009 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 4:
Docket No. 080677-EIPetition for increase in rates by Florida Power & Light Company.

Docket No. 090079-EIPetition for increase in rates by Progress Energy Florida, Inc.

The Commission will address a staff recommendation related to Progress Energy’s (PEF) and Florida Power & Light’s (FPL) requests for confidentiality of certain executive compensation information.

ITEM 4A:
Docket No. 080677-EI
Petition for increase in rates by Florida Power & Light Company.

Docket No. 090079-EIPetition for increase in rates by Progress Energy Florida, Inc.

The Commission will address a staff recommendation on its motions to compel certain PEF and FPL responsive filings related to executive compensation information.

ITEM 5: Docket No. 080641-TPInitiation of rulemaking to amend and repeal rules in Chapters 25-4 and 25-9, F.A.C., pertaining to telecommunications.  The Commission will address a staff recommendation on whether changes should be made to proposed Rules 25-4.0185, 25-4.066, 25-4.070, 25-4.073, 25-4.110, and 25-4.083, F.A.C., based on the comments submitted by the Joint Petitioners, Florida Cable Telecommunications Association, Inc., and Communications Workers of America.  These rules may be generally characterized as telecommunications service quality rules.

ITEM 10: Docket No. 090166-EQPetition for approval of renewable energy tariff and standard offer contract, by Florida Power & Light Company.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on FPL’s standard offer contract that will be used by renewable energy providers.

ITEM 11: Docket No. 060614-TCCompliance investigation of TCG Public Communications, Inc. for apparent violation of Section 364.183(1), F.S., Access to Company Records, and determination of amount and appropriate method for refunding overcharges for collect calls made from inmate pay telephones.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on whether to accept TCG Public Communications, Inc.'s proposed $1.25 million settlement offer.
