Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the Tuesday, December 1, 2009 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 1:  Election of Chairman.

ITEM 6: Docket No. 090504–TPProposed amendment of Rule 25-4.0665, F.A.C. Lifeline Service.  The Commission will address a staff recommendation on proposed rules that govern the Florida Lifeline program.

ITEM 10: Docket No. 090372-EQPetition for approval of negotiated purchase power contract with FB Energy, LLC by Progress Energy Florida (PEF).  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on approval of a contract for PEF to buy energy generated from a new biomass facility in Manatee County, Florida.

The Commission will address a staff recommendation on new conservation goals for each utility as required every five years by the Florida Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act. 

ITEM 14: Docket No 090001-EIFuel and purchased power cost recovery clause with generating performance incentive factor. (Issues for Gulf Power Company).  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on evidence regarding fuel and purchased power costs for Gulf Power to determine 2010 fuel rates.

ITEM 15: Docket No. 090001-EIFuel and purchased power cost recovery clause with generating performance incentive factor. (Issues for Florida Public Utilities Company).  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on evidence regarding fuel and purchased power costs for Gulf Power to determine 2010 fuel rates.

ITEM 18: Docket No. 090368-EIReview of the continuing need and costs associated with Tampa Electric Company’s 5 Combustion Turbines and Big Bend Rail Facility.  The Commission will address a staff recommendation for TECO recovering costs to construct five new combustion turbine units and rail facilities for unloading coal.
