Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference


TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the Tuesday, February 9, 2010 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 5: Docket No. 090451-EMJoint petition to determine need for Gainesville Renewable Energy Center in Alachua County by Gainesville Regional Utilities and Gainesville Renewable Energy Center, LLC.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation concerning a need determination for a proposed new biomass plant.

ITEM 7: Docket No. 090508-EIPetition for approval of new environmental program for cost recovery through Environmental Cost Recovery Clause by Tampa Electric Company.  The Commission will address a staff recommendation on recovery of costs for a greenhouse gas reduction program.

ITEM 8: Docket No. 100025-EIPetition for approval of cost recovery for new environmental program by Progress Energy Florida.  The Commission will consider a staff recommendation on cost recovery for a data collection program requested by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

ITEM 13: Docket No. 090109-EUPetition for approval of solar energy power purchase agreement between Tampa Electric Company and Energy 5.0, LLC.  The Commission will consider a request to revisit its December 2009 approval of TECO’s contract for a 25 megawatt renewable energy facility with Energy 5.0, LLC.
