Spreading a little “goodwill,” the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is joining Goodwill Industries—Big Bend, Inc. (Goodwill) on September 16 to kick off the 2015 National Lifeline Awareness Week (September 14-20). The kick-off will begin at 10 a.m., at The Prosperity Center in Tallahassee.
PSC Commissioner Ronald A. Brisé will join Goodwill CEO and President Fred G. Shelfer, Jr., Leon County Commission Chair Mary Ann Lindley, and Tallahassee City Commissioner Scott Maddox to raise awareness about the federal Lifeline Assistance program that helps eligible Floridians reduce their monthly phone bill and stay connected to job opportunities, as well as to businesses and community services.
Telecommunications companies will also attend to help eligible residents apply for the program.
The kickoff event will be held at the following time and location:
Wednesday, September 16, 2015
