TALLAHASSEE —
Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) today voted to continue Tampa Electric Company’s (TECO) rate petition hearing, scheduled to begin today, until Wednesday, September 11.
Late last Friday, TECO, the Office of Public Counsel (OPC), and other parties to the case filed a Stipulation and Settlement Agreement (Agreement) with the Commission. Today’s continuance allows Commissioners time to review the Agreement before considering it on Wednesday and also allows the evidentiary hearing on TECO’s original petition to continue should the Agreement be denied. Parties to the Agreement include TECO, OPC, Florida Industrial Power Users Group, Florida Retail Federation, Federal Executive Agencies, and WCF Hospital Utility Alliance. TECO filed its base rate increase petition with the PSC on April 5. The Commission held customer service hearings in TECO’s service territory in May to hear from the utility’s customers. TECO provides electric service to more than 687,000 customers in Hillsborough and portions of Polk, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. PSC consideration of the Agreement is set for the following time and location: Wednesday, September 11, 2013 9:30 a.m. Betty Easley Conference Center Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148) 4075 Esplanade Way Tallahassee, Florida For additional information, visit www.floridapsc.com. Follow the PSC on Twitter, @floridapsc.
