PSC Commissioner Brisé Reappointed to USAC Board

TALLAHASSEE — Florida Public Service Commissioner Ronald Brisé has again been named to the Board of Directors of the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler. He was first appointed in March 2012.

“I’m honored that Chairman Wheeler reappointed me, and I feel fortunate to be able to continue USAC’s rewarding work,” Commissioner Brisé said. “It’s important to find ways to ensure that vulnerable and hard-to-serve populations have access to all telecommunications networks, while also protecting the public interest.”

Commissioner Brisé serves as the state telecommunications regulators’ representative on the 19-member USAC Board, an independent, not-for-profit corporation designated as the administrator of the federal Universal Service Fund (USF) by the FCC. USAC administers USF telecommunications programs for high cost companies serving rural areas, low-income consumers, rural health care providers, and schools and libraries.

As a former member of the Florida House of Representatives (District 108) and former Chief Operating Officer for IPIP Corporation, a VoIP telecommunications carrier, Commissioner Brisé brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the USAC Board by representing the diverse groups that are interested in and affected by the USF.
