The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) staff will hold a workshop on Wednesday, March 30 to review the status of hurricane preparedness for the state’s electric utilities and major telephone companies. The annual workshop reviews the actions utilities have taken to protect their electric transmission and distribution facilities from severe weather impacts.
Each utility will present its current storm-hardening preparation status. Preparation categories include facility inspections; maintenance and repairs; coordination with other utilities, government, and community groups; and other storm-hardening measures. The presentations will also address unfinished work and identify specific areas of concern.
