Museum of Florida History Receives PSC’s Helping Hand Recognition

TALLAHASSEE — The Museum of Florida History (Museum) is known for helping exhibitors display their essential information. As an invited exhibitor at the Museum’s 37th Annual Children’s Day, held on January 25, 2020, the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) enjoyed a special outreach opportunity. This chance to reach new consumers is being recognized by naming the Museum as a PSC Helping Hand.

“We appreciated the opportunity to provide Children’s Day visitors with our Get Wise and Conserve Florida! activity booklet. It’s never too early to learn energy and water conservation practices so that they become life-long habits,” said PSC Chairman Gary Clark. “Information on the Lifeline program and how to recognize and avoid scams was also shared, and we thank the Museum for helping us let visitors know how the PSC can assist them.”

Each quarter, the PSC highlights a partner agency or organization whose clients are eligible for the federal Lifeline Assistance telephone/broadband discount program or need help reducing energy and water bills. Through these PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares information to help consumers avoid scams and stretch their resources to meet monthly bills.

“The Museum annually hosts a day for families and children to be entertained and educated throughout the Museum and R.A. Gray Building,” said Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee.  “We work with so many wonderful exhibitors, such as the PSC, that encourage our families to connect with programs and services that support their needs.”

The PSC schedules events year round to reach those who can benefit from information on hurricane preparedness, scam protections, and energy and water conservation. Look for this year’s PSC Helping Hand outreach partner recognitions on the PSC’s homepage,, under Hot Topics.
