Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center Named PSC Helping Hand

TALLAHASSEE — Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) is recognizing Hollywood’s Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center Southeast Focal Point as a PSC Helping Hand for helping raise public awareness about the Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program and energy and water conservation.

“We appreciate the Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center Southeast Focal Point’s distribution of our Lifeline and conservation materials to benefit their clients,” said PSC Chairman Art Graham. “Executive Director Justine Hoo partners with us regularly to help us reach those seniors who can most benefit from the information.”

Begun in 2013, each month the PSC highlights a partner agency or organization whose clients are eligible for the federal Lifeline program and/or need help reducing energy and water bills. Through these PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares vital information to help consumers stretch their resources to meet their monthly bills.

“We appreciate being named a PSC Helping Hand,” said Ms. Hoo. “Our Center has a philosophy of inclusion and support, and we appreciate the PSC for delivering materials that help our seniors save money in their everyday lives.”
