Florida PSC Requests Comments on Solar Development

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is requesting input for development of policies or programs to enhance Florida’s use of solar energy. PSC Commissioners recently agreed that information from individuals, businesses, and utilities on practical ways to more effectively promote solar energy in Florida would be useful.

“It makes sense to involve all stakeholders in gathering information on practical policies and programs to encourage solar energy,” said PSC Chairman Art Graham. He noted that the Commission concluded that the expensive pilot programs currently in place have yielded insufficient results.

For further information on submitting comments or to view the questions to be answered, visit and access Solar Energy in Florida-Request for Comments under Hot Topics. Comments are due by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23 and are limited to 20 pages. All submitted comments will be public record and posted to the PSC’s website.
