TALLAHASSEE —
Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) is recognizing Goodwill Industries of Central Florida as a PSC Helping Hand for hosting PSC events to promote the federal Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program during last month’s National Lifeline Awareness Week (September 14-20).
“We appreciate Goodwill Industries of Central Florida for their work in helping to make this year’s Lifeline Awareness Week a success,” said PSC Chairman Art Graham. “I also want to recognize Linda Rimmer, Vice President of Vocational Services, for her help in scheduling our events in Goodwill Job Connection Centers so that we could speak to residents who can benefit from our information.” Begun in 2013, each month the PSC highlights a partner agency or organization whose clients need help reducing energy and water bills, protection from energy-related fraud schemes and/or may qualify for the Lifeline program. Through PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares vital information to help consumers stretch their resources to meet their monthly bills. “It is an honor to be named a PSC Helping Hand,” said Ms. Rimmer. “We were pleased that the PSC visited our Job Connection Centers in East and West Orlando and Daytona Beach and shared information with job seekers needing discounted phone service to stay connected to friends, family, and essential community services.” Look for all the PSC Helping Hand outreach partner recognitions on the PSC’s homepage, www.floridapsc.com, under Hot Topics.
