Florida Public Service Commissioner Matthew M. Carter II to Promote Energy Conservation Play

TALLAHASSEE — ST. PETERSBURG — Florida Public Service Commissioner Matthew M. Carter II will be teaching students in St. Petersburg, Florida, how to conserve energy as part of the upcoming play, Turn It On; Turn It Off, being performed at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, October 15, at the Lakeview Fundamental Elementary School.  The play, being performed by middle school students for younger students, is in recognition of October’s “Energy Awareness Month.”

“Conserving energy today is one of the most important lessons we can all learn,” said Commissioner Carter.  “By teaching Florida’s children about the importance of energy conservation now, we are encouraging them to choose and use energy wisely for years to come.”

Joining Commissioner Carter on October 15 will be Mayor Rick Baker, City of St. Petersburg.  Jeff Lyash, President and CEO of Progress Energy Florida, is also scheduled to attend.  The event will be held at the following time and location:
