The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a customer service hearing on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, for customers of Peoples Gas System (Peoples). In August 2008, Peoples filed a petition with the PSC for approval of a $26.4 million permanent increase to its rates. The utility’s last rate case was in 2003.
Peoples provides natural gas service to approximately 334,000 commercial, industrial, and residential customers in three regions. The South Region includes the Daytona Beach, Eustis, Orlando, Palm Beach, Southwest Florida, and Dade Broward divisions. The West Region includes the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Avon Park, and Sarasota divisions. The North Region includes the Jacksonville, Panama City, and Ocala divisions.
The hearing allows customers to comment on the proposed rates and any quality-of-service issues relevant to the utility. Customers are invited to attend the hearing at the following time and location:
