TALLAHASSEE —
Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) is partnering with WorkSource during National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 1-7, to assist Florida’s unemployed residents by showing them how to manage their telephone and utility bills. PSC representatives will visit Jacksonville on Wednesday, March 4.
“Now, more than ever, Floridians need to practice energy and water conservation tips to help reduce their bills and benefit their pocketbooks,” said PSC Chairman Matthew M. Carter. “We will also be signing up eligible residents to receive a discount on basic telephone service through the Lifeline Assistance program.” This year’s NCPW theme, Nuts and Bolts: Tools for Today’s Economy, is a nationwide effort to help consumers, in communities where they live and work, get the most for their money. The NCPW Jacksonville event will take place at the following time and location: Wednesday, March 4, 2009 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. WorkSource Plus Service Center 215 N.
