TALLAHASSEE —
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a hearing on the proposed Gainesville Renewable Energy Center in Alachua County on Monday, May 3. The biomass facility is a joint project of Gainesville Regional Utilities and Gainesville Renewable Energy Center, LLC.
This supplemental hearing will address Commissioner requests for further information. Items to be addressed include the current status of carbon regulation, the ability to gather sufficient biomass fuel at a reasonable cost, and methods to mitigate the potential rate impact.
