Customer Hearings Scheduled To Discuss Audit Report Regarding Aloha Utilities, Inc.’s Water Quality

Aloha is a water and wastewater utility located in Pasco County that provides service to approximately 10,000 customers in its Seven Springs system.  Because customer concerns regarding Aloha’s water quality have already been identified and discussed on a number of occasions, PSC Chairman Braulio Baez said:  “We are encouraging customers to provide testimony that will help us identify solutions.  Dr. Levine’s report offers alternatives to the status quo and we are interested in the response of the utility’s ratepayers.”

Dr. Levine’s report was sponsored by the Office of Public Counsel, an agency that represents Florida’s consumers in utility cases before the PSC.  While this report suggests three potential solutions to improve the quality of Aloha’s water, the PSC will also consider other options that may lead to a prompt resolution of this matter. 

These customer hearings are being conducted for the customers of the Seven Springs system and will be held at the following times and location:

Thursday, April 8, 2004

  First Customer Hearing:          9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Second Customer Hearing:     4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
