TALLAHASSEE —
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a workshop on Monday, August 13, to discuss the 10-year site plans for the state’s 11 largest electric utilities. Each utility’s plan identifies system upgrades and modifications needed to maintain adequate reliability over the next 10 years.
The Commission is required by Florida Statute to perform an annual review of the utilities’ plans and classify them as “suitable” or “unsuitable.” Commission findings are provided to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for consideration at electrical power plant and transmission line siting certification proceedings. The Florida Reliability Coordinating Council will also present the 2012 Regional Load and Resource Plan, encompassing all Florida electric generating plants and detailing the state’s transmission needs. An opportunity for public comment will be provided at the beginning of the workshop, which is set for the following time and location: Monday, August 13, 2012 9:30 a.m. Betty Easley Conference Center Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148) 4075 Esplanade Way Tallahassee, Florida For additional information, visit www.floridapsc.com. Follow the PSC on Twitter, @floridapsc.
