The Study Committee on Investor-Owned Water & Wastewater Utility Systems (Committee) will meet via conference call at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18. Interested members of the public are invited to attend, call-in, or view the meeting online.
Established by the 2012 Florida Legislature, the Committee is addressing challenges affecting investor-owned water and wastewater utilities, including federal and state drinking water and environmental standards, infrastructure repair and replacement, and customer impacts. This is the Committee’s third meeting to gather information for a report required to be submitted to the Governor, the Senate President, and the Speaker of the House by February 15, 2013. Chaired by Florida Public Service Commissioner Julie I. Brown, the Committee includes 15 representatives from the Florida Legislature, state agencies, state and local governments, investor-owned water utilities, and their customers.
